Singer Natasha St-Pier followed in the footsteps of fellow French-Canadian prima donna Celine Dion to achieve international pop stardom of her own. Born February 10, 1981, in Bathurst, New Brunswick, she studied pianoforte and dance end-to-end childhood and made her professional phase debut at age octonary. Already a seasoned veteran soldier of the regional festival circumference, St-Pier domed to national fame in 1993 via Quebec's illustrious video amateur show window Le Pouvoir de la Chanson, qualification serial history as the youngest contestant always to outlive to the final stave. Her debut single, "Le Parcours du Coeur," soon followed, and at age 14 she issued her low full-length LP, Emergence. In 1999 St-Pier asterisked in both the French and English versions of the stage musical Notre-Dame de Paris, followed in the spring of 2000 by her sec album, A Chacun Son Histoire. At year's end, she also supported Canadian pop star Garou on his European go. The trek galvanized St-Pier's bid to stand for France in the 2001 Eurovision Song Contest, and her rendition of composer Robert Goldman's "Je N'ai Que Mon Âme" located fourth in the last standings. Her success made her a staple of French music programs and speak shows, and upon its French waiver, A Chacun Son Histoire went amber. Around the like clip, St-Pier befriended singer/songwriter Pascal Obispo, world Health Organization contributed a wealthiness of material to her followup LP, De l'Amour le Mieux. The lead single "Tu Trouveras" proved a substantial strike, and later passing platinum in France the album vaulted St-Pier to superstar position in Quebec, where she performed her first solo evince, PM Rendez-vous, in mid-2002. After victorious Best Newcomer of the Year honors at the 2003 Victoires de la Musique awards, St-Pier joined a number of luminaries in an all-star concert celebrating the 60th birthday of French pop fable Johnny Hallyday. Her Obispo-produced twenty-five percent record album, L'Instant d'Après, followed that autumn, launching the chart bang up "Tant Que C'est Toi." She as well issued a Spanish-language edition of De l'Amour le Mieux prior to reversive in early 2006 with a new LP, Longueur d'Ondes.

N.Y. charity run by actress Anne Hathaway's boyfriend investigated

ALBANY, N.Y. — The state is investigating the charitable foundation of Anne Hathaway's boyfriend, a spokesman for the attorney general said Monday.

Italian businessman Raffaello Follieri, 29, who dates the "Devil Wears Prada" star, heads the Follieri Foundation, a charity whose work includes vaccinating children in Third World countries.

New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo is heading the probe, Cuomo spokesman Matt Glazer said. He said he could not comment further on the ongoing investigation.

The Foundation has not filed IRS tax disclosure forms required from charities, according to a review of records by The Associated Press.

The New York Post, which first reported the investigation, said Hathaway was previously on the foundation's board of directors, but it was unclear when or for how long.

"There is an investigation going on that does not involve Anne," said Stephen Huvane, Hathaway's publicist, in an e-mail. "She is no longer a board member of the Follieri Foundation. Other than that we will not be commenting."

Rainn Wilson Says He'd Trade Acting For Drumming 'In A Heartbeat' At Sneak Peek Week Screening Of 'The Rocker'

MTV's Sneak Peek Week began in style, continued with brute force and came to a rocking crescendo Tuesday night with a special screening of "The Rocker" and appearances by stars Rainn Wilson, Teddy Geiger and Emma Stone.

"What a handsome group of people you are!" Wilson proclaimed as audience members lined up for a post-screening Q&A. "Love gets made wherever I go!"

Tuesday night all the love was directed toward the stars, who joined MTV to showcase their new film. "The Rocker" tells the story of an over-the-hill drummer (Wilson), who gets hooked up to the rejuvenation machine thanks to a spot in his nephew's high school band.

In preparation for playing the hard-rocking Robert "Fish" Fishman, Wilson told audience members he put himself though legitimate musical training to pound the drums like a pro. And he's looking to give up acting to continue his newfound love. No, seriously.

"The drum coach not only taught me how to keep the beat but everything a heavy-metal rocker does. The world of the heavy-metal drummer is a world unto itself," he laughed. "I would give up acting in a heartbeat. I'm a big fleshy rock presence. [Any band out there that needs a drummer], call me!"

Heck, Wilson joked with the audience, he's even got a kick-ass name, should any band in need of his services be without one.

"I have a good band name, I just thought of it today: Times New Roman! Fonts make good names," he chuckled, raising devil horns in tribute. "Helvetica!"

"Mr. Wilson & the Gang! Now there's a name," Geiger countered.

Geiger, of course, is a legitimate musician in his own right, a junior rocker about to put out his fourth album this September.

So, given that, one audience member wanted to know: Would Geiger ever invite Wilson to play with him?

"Of course," he responded. "He's a good drummer. He adds to the antics."

"Are you playing 50,000-seat arenas?" Wilson asked.

"Um, no."

"Then forget it!"

Wilson rocks the world when "The Rocker" opens August 1.
